December 19th, 2024. The Board of Directors of the municipal company Circuito de Jerez S.A., has approved by majority the Budget Proposal for the year 2025 which contemplates a profit at the end of the year of 607,246 euros as a consequence of the cost reduction measures and the update of the tariffs approved by the previous Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
Likewise, the proposal for the awarding of the works of turns 6 and 13 for an amount of 890,367 euros has been approved. They will be executed in 2025, within a period of two months, and will therefore be completed for the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix of that year. As is known, the International Motorcycling Federation agreed with the Circuito de Jerez, for the homologation of the track for the celebration of international competitions, the execution of works to increase the safety of some curves within three years. In 2023 the safety zone extensions were executed in turns 1, 5 and 7; in 2024 the works in turns 2 and 10 were executed. <\/p>\n
Another of the points dealt with in the Council were the events to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Circuito de Jerez during 2025. Officially inaugurated on December 8, 1985 with the first competition held on its track (the Spanish Touring Car Championship), the Jerez track became a stage for major international competitions such as Formula 1 and MotoGP, giving a great boost to motor racing in Spain and positioning the country as a benchmark in this sport. To celebrate this anniversary, different events will be programmed throughout 2025, including presentations, exhibitions, motorbike and car rallies and other participatory events, as well as a Final Gala, which will be presented at the end of February.<\/p>\n
In this regard, during the Council, the representatives of the City Council of Jerez have shown their \u201cconcern and discomfort\u201d after learning that the Government of Spain has vetoed the debate of a bill for the Government to declare the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix at the Jerez Circuit as an 'Event of Exceptional Public Interest'. <\/p>\n
Thus, they have indicated that \u201cthey hope that the Executive of Pedro S\u00e1nchez rectifies and attends to the request, taking into account that it is the main and only public circuit of Andalusia and that next year will celebrate 40 years celebrating this transcendental sporting event of world-wide character\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
