31 May 2025. The FIM JuniorGP™ experienced a key day on Saturday at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto with the qualifying practice sessions that would define the grids for tomorrow's races, the second round of the season for this international motorcycling event, the launch pad for the future stars of MotoGP. Today's session was marked by high temperatures, a prelude to the temperatures that are also expected tomorrow and which will ultimately determine the strategies during the competition.
From early on, the favourites in the different categories came out determined to mark their territory, with stable track conditions that allowed for very competitive lap times. From 12.20 p.m. onwards, qualifying got underway with two sessions for each category and the temperature of the asphalt was already rising. In the ETC (European Talent Cup) category, which has two races scheduled for tomorrow morning, Carlos Cano was the fastest of the combined session with a time of 1'49.078, followed by Alvaro Lucas who was second with 1'49.867, while Alex Longarela, leader of the general standings, set the third fastest time of the day in this category with 1'49.675.
In JuniorGP™, the fight for the pole position was millimetric, with several names among the fastest with Brian Uriarte finally taking pole with a time of 1'45.337, Rico Salmela second with 145.812, while the Italian Leonardo Zanni closed the front row of the grid with 1'45.893.
En el Europeo de Moto2, era el piloto polaco Milan Pawelec quien lograba la Pole position con un tiempo de 1.41.504. Por su parte, el líder de la categoría, Unai Orradre marcaba el segundo mejor tiempo de la jornada (1.41.611), siendo tercero Eric Fernández con 1.41.0760.
The Stock European Championship category closed the day's qualifying where Italian Jacopo Cretaro took pole with a time of 1'44.423. Second fastest time was for Andy Verdoia with 1'44.452, while Ruben Romero closed the front row of the grid with a time of 1'44.587.
