Spanish Winter Championship ends its first round of the season with victories for Jan Przyrowski in Eurocup 4 (F4) and Gladysz Maciej in Eurocup3.

9 February 2025. An excellent weather accompanied the development of this Sunday's ‘Spanish Winter Championship’, a winter event that closed today in Jerez its first meeting of the season of a total of 4 events scheduled throughout the months of February and March prior to the start of the official season for the Formula 4 and Eurocup3 categories, which start the new course on 30 March and 18 May respectively.

Today, Sunday, in a short but intense day that only included two qualifying practice sessions and two races, the public was able to enjoy the spectacle offered by these single-seater categories and the battles on the track that take place throughout the race between the young drivers of both classes trying to make their way and stand out in these close competitions where the talent of the drivers makes the difference.
34 drivers made up the grid in the E4 (F4) category with pole position again for the Polish driver Jan Przyrowski (1.43.477), winner of the opening round of the event yesterday. On the other hand, 25 drivers made up the Eurocup3 category, with Poland's Maciej Gladysz taking first place on the grid with a time of 1'36.716.

The first race on stage was the Formula 4 with 32 drivers on the starting grid. A race that was a ‘never-ending story’. Up to 4 starts had to be made for different reasons, among them, several off-track starts on the warm-up lap, cars that did not start on the grid, a participant's spin on the formation lap before the grid, to which was added that, once the race had started, no more than one lap passed when the Safety Car arrived to neutralise the race due to participants leaving the track, So finally, of the 30 minutes plus one lap that the race was scheduled for, it was just over ten minutes of actual race time plus one lap that lasted this complicated race which was won by the author of this morning's pole position, Polish driver Jan Przyrowski (Griffin Core by Campos), who left Jerez with a great weekend with two poles and two victories. American Vivek Kanthan (Campos Racing) was second, while Dutch driver Rene Lammers (MP Motorsport) took third place on the podium.

The Eurocup3 category closed the day, where there were not as many incidents as in the previous race, although there was also the presence of Safety Car during the course of the race. Frenchman Jules Caranta, part of the Spanish Campos Racing team, was leading the race when his Bulgarian teammate Nikola Tsolov tried to pass him at the Dani Pedrosa corner and they touched each other, with Polish driver Maciej Gladysz (KCL MP Motorsport) taking third place, Maciej Gladysz (KCL MP Motorsport), third in the race, took the lead from where he began to set a powerful pace and managed to open a gap of more than two seconds with respect to Caranta and the rest of the competitors, which made him arrive comfortably to the last moments of the race where he achieved a hard-earned victory. Second was Jules Caranta, while the Italian driver Mattia Colnaghi took third place on the Jerez podium. The only Spanish driver present in this event and in this EuroCup3 category, Juan Cota from Madrid, who yesterday achieved a second and a sixth place in both races, finished today in fifteenth place.

After this motor racing event, the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto is preparing to host the first official tests for the Moto2 and Moto3 categories from 18 to 20 February.
