The mayor of Jerez and president of Cirjesa encourages the use of the shuttle bus lines that connect the city with the Circuit and describes them as the most recommended and fastest option for accessing the track.

April 21, 2025. The mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, along with the Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, and the Deputy Representative of the Government in Cádiz, Blanca Flores, has presided over the meeting of the Advisory Committee for the Territorial Emergency Plan of the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix at the ‘Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto.’ On Friday, April 25, the 'Territorial Civil Protection Plan in Pre-Emergency Phase and Operational Situation 0' will be activated from the Advanced Command Post, with an Operational Coordination Center at the Local Police Headquarters as well as the CECOR at the Circuito de Jerez itself, to address incidents in its immediate area.

The mayor of Jerez has expressed her gratitude in advance for "the commitment and effort of the professionals who make up the various security forces and bodies, as well as medical personnel and technical professionals from the areas involved in this edition of the Grand Prix, which is expected to be more crowded than previous ones," and which presents new challenges with the addition of the parking lot created by Cirjesa, offering more capacity and facilities to accommodate the expected increase of nearly 20,000 people. As of today, 77,346 tickets have been sold, representing an increase of 17,058 compared to the 2024 edition on the same day.

The mayor emphasized the need to arrive at the Circuit with enough time in advance to avoid delays in reaching the parking areas due to the nearly 20,000 additional people expected to attend the event this year. She also conveyed a message of responsibility and caution on the roads. "If we all take on the commitment to arrive in an orderly manner and on time, this Grand Prix will once again be a success, thanks to the professionals who will assist us at the access points and on the roads."

Shuttle lines ‘Cacharritos Feria-Circuito de Jerez’ and 2,000 parking spaces.
The City Council will also open a new parking area with 2,000 spaces for vehicles and motorhomes in the Feria 'Cacharritos' area and a plot of land in front of the Chapín Stadium, allowing people to park and directly take shuttle buses to and from the Circuit.

The shuttle lines from the Cacharritos-Feria area will operate with the following continuous round-trip schedule: Friday, April 25 (from 07:30 AM to 7:00 PM); Saturday, April 26 (from 7:00 AM to 9:15 PM); and Sunday, April 27 (from 6:00 AM to 5:15 PM).
The following motorcycle parking areas have been reserved in the urban area: Avenida de Europa, Avenida Caballero Bonald, Avenida Voltaire, Avenida Alcalde Álvaro Domecq, Calle Armas, Calle Manuel María González, Calle Circo, Calle Porvera, San Juan Grande, and Alameda Cristina.

In this regard, García-Pelayo emphasized that "the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix in Jerez has become a classic and a coveted event for all motorcycle enthusiasts; it is the only Motorcycle Grand Prix held in our country," and this demands "that we live up to the expectations in terms of coordination between all administrations, as well as updating and improving the Circuit's facilities and equipment, along with the activities held in Jerez in connection with the Grand Prix."

The mayor has reminded about the various activities scheduled for this week, ranging from a photographic exhibition on the 40th anniversary of the Circuit of Jerez at the Claustros de Santo Domingo, to the motorcycle caravan from the Circuit to Alameda Vieja on Thursday afternoon, the presentation of the Jerez City of Motor Awards, as well as musical performances in various squares in the city center.

Regarding the Circuit's facilities, the mayor confirmed, "We are introducing new run-off areas in four corners of the track: corners 2, 6, 10, and 13." She added that "this complements the work already completed in corners 1, 5, and 7, so by increasing the gravel area in these corners, we are improving safety for the riders. This is an investment we have been making in recent years in collaboration with the International Federation to ensure we meet all the standards required by the FIM for the homologation that allows us to continue hosting MotoGP World Championship events."

The VIP Tower has also been updated, which was in need of improvement. "The aesthetic has been preserved, and now it has a capacity for 250 people. It has been fully renovated, with four panoramic floors offering a 360-degree view of the Circuit," and the old grandstands have been replaced with new ones that are more accessible, taller, and provide better visibility. "This will position us as a better circuit compared to others that are also advancing in different parts of the world."

One of the most significant updates in the modernization of the Circuit has been the creation of Parking B, managed by Cirjesa, located in an area that has been improved, offering better security conditions and enough capacity to accommodate up to 6,000 spaces, the tickets for which can be purchased on the official Circuit website. "We are improving the Circuit both inside and outside," emphasized the mayor.

The main entrance gate is brand new and will be crowned by an arch 8 meters high and 16 meters wide, featuring a large LED screen that will display information and road images. “And in a city aspiring to be the European Capital of Culture in 2031, we have decorated the various walls with artworks by the winners of the 1st Mural Painting Contest for the 40th Anniversary of the Circuit, thus ensuring wide visibility for spectators at the Circuit and on television.”

The meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Territorial Emergency Plan serves to confirm the measures established in situ at the Circuito de Jerez and to incorporate the latest updates. It is recalled that the Special Plan for the Grand Prix was approved at the end of March in a session held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, presided over by the Mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, together with the Government Subdelegate, Blanca Flores. As a result, the Grand Prix Security Board was convened, coordinated by the Deputy Mayor for Security, José Ignacio Martínez, at the Local Police Headquarters, where the plan for programming and optimizing resources in the urban center of the city and its connection to the Circuit access points was outlined.

The Minister of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, stated that "this weekend Jerez will become the World Capital of Sport," and this meeting follows previous ones held for this purpose. "We are now at the final stage, and we thank all the teams—from the Regional Government, the Government Subdelegation, the City Council, the Circuit itself, the Red Cross, and healthcare services, among others"—for their involvement in an event that places us "at the heart of cooperation and coordination, because our shared goal is for the headline to be the sport, the great sporting results, and not anything else."

Sanz reaffirmed the mayor's recommendation "to arrive at the circuit with enough time to avoid nervousness and impatience, with the utmost caution and responsibility, following the advice of professionals, while the Advisory Committee works to ensure that the main focus remains on the atmosphere and the races inside the Circuit, as well as the special ambiance of Jerez."

In this way, Sanz confirmed that this will be the first year the new Andalusian Emergency Agency is incorporated into the Circuit, and on Friday the 25th, the ‘Territorial Emergency Plan for Civil Protection of Andalusia in Pre-Emergency Phase and Operational Situation 0’ will be activated early in the morning. “We are making a leap to the most technological plan yet, with a system for monitoring capacity and flows, which will allow us to optimize decision-making, as well as the incorporation of the digital emergency network for the first time,” he stated, adding that satellite cameras will be added to those already in place from the Circuit, the Civil Guard, and the National Police. Likewise, the entire Circuit’s cartography has been updated to geolocate any critical situation instantly.

Antonio Sanz concluded his remarks by recalling that the Territorial Emergency Plan at the Circuit, implemented for the Spanish Grand Prix, marks its 20th anniversary this year. He noted that a total of 3,100 personnel will be deployed to ensure safety and emergency response during the event. He also expressed his gratitude for the collaboration and coordination between the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Government Subdelegation, and the Jerez City Council.

“‘More spectators and fewer emergencies’—that should be our motto for an Emergency Plan that stands as a model to follow in Spain and around the world,” emphasized the Minister of the Presidency.

Regarding the personnel deployed by the Government Subdelegation for the Motorcycle World Championship, more than 3,000 officers from the National Police, Civil Guard, and the Guardia Civil Traffic Division will be mobilized, with an estimated 488,000 trips expected. The Government Subdelegate, Blanca Flores, stated that “inter-institutional collaboration and teamwork are clearly evident, and our goal is to ensure that there are no accidents involving victims, because what’s at stake this weekend is safety. Coordination is key, and the Grand Prix is a prime example of good organization and security.”
